Facilitator

Hany brings over 35 years of experience in emerging markets, managing both fund investments and direct investments. He is currently the Chairman of Avanz Capital Egypt, the Egyptian subsidiary of Avanz Capital Management. Previously, he served for 12 years as Co-founder and Chief Portfolio and Risk Officer of Avanz Capital Management, overseeing fund-of-funds and specialised private capital investments across emerging and growth markets.

Before Avanz Capital, Hany spent more than two decades at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where he was Chief Investment Officer for sector-specific funds, managing fund investment programmes across four regions. At Avanz Capital, Mr Assaad and his team managed three fund-of-funds investing in Private Equity and Venture Capital funds and co-invested in businesses across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Egypt.

Hany has extensive expertise in private capital fund management, fund governance, and corporate governance. Over the past 15 years, he has designed and delivered training programmes and masterclasses on these topics to investors and fund managers globally.
